Book piece. Here's the Sarah Coventry epitome of 1960s Maltese Cross Jewels. It's a book piece, featured on page 50 of Roseann Ettinger's Popular Jewelry of the '60s, '70s & '80s. Called Mosaic, a matching pair of earrings can generally be found if you look (Uh oh, I'm giving you set completion syndrome!) This haute-couture look straight from mid century mod madness is getting fairly hard to find in top condition. It offers and olive and red hard plastic cabs, as well as cabs of mixed colors in golden rope settings. This is a big one, 3" in diameter and in Excellent condition. You're going to be noticed in this medieval revival brooch with those amazing 60's colors! $48 |

Vintage Sarah Coventry Crusader Cross Pendant Pictured in the 1975 Sarah Coventry catalog. What a lovely gift this cross pendant would make. It is not only stylish but also beautiful, with a silvertone--possibly rhodium plated--filigree similar to the delicate platinum or white gold Edwardian filigree from the turn of the century. In cups with decorated edges, white faux pearl cabochons and purple glass cab in the middle make a glowing combination with a clean & fresh look. Monte Carlo Yellow Rhinestone Necklace This elegant necklace from the 1960's is a testament to spring and summer by Sarah Coventry. The Monte Carlo line is one of the more scarce and desirable jewels by SC, due to the unique design and brilliant beauty. A chain of golden oblong links and crystal rhinestones lead to interlocking textured leaf or paisley shapes over more sparkling crystals. Starburst Maltese Cross Pendant Necklace Sarah Coventry could be counted on to contribute her share of Maltese cross styles that reigned throughout the swinging 1960's, and Starburst is a design that should be in the Maltese Cross Hall of Fame. In this fabulous interpretation, amber-topaz and champagne rhinestones flash like fire from a golden "diamond dust" finish. These stones are are extremely clear and bright, twinkling like stars from their cups within the openwork base. This is a substantial, quality piece, with good heft. Here's another of the highly sought after Mother's Pin, by Sarah Coventry. A book piece, the jewel is featured on the cover of EMMONS & SARAH COVENTRY JEWELRY FASHION SHOW by Deborah A. Robinson. This one has a single blue and a single purple rhinestone; the rest are clear crystals. All the stone are prong set in cups and set on the gold tone exquisitely textured tree. Splendor Dark Pink Swirl Lucite Leaf Pin A favorite pin by Sarah Coventry back from 1975 is Autumn Splendor, but with that heart melting marbled dark pink color, this jewel must be springtime and summer splendor as well. Guaranteed to brighten any complexion, and what could be better than the dash of happy color it brings when you wear it. This is a nice 1/8 thick slab of thermoset set in smooth, faultless goldtone, 2 7/8" tall and 1 1/2" wide. This is a book piece brooch, featured on page 151 of Mid-Century Plastic Jewelry, by Susan Klein. The earrings are hard to find; I promise to be on the lookout for them. Sarah Coventry Purple Wisteria Pendant Necklace & Earrings Set Circa 1970. This beloved chandelier style pendant necklace spills a sparkling waterfall of oval faceted Lucite beads that are so fine and clear they look like glass. The branch holding the silvertone tendrils is engraved with an Art Nouveauesque design. The the pendant, including the bail, measures 4" Long x 2 1/8" Wide. The 25" chain closes with a spring ring clasp and has an extra jump ring so you can adjust the necklace to 21" if desired. The clip-on earrings are 2" long. Americana Brooch & Clip Earring Set Here is the ultimate Sarah Coventry book piece, featured in several Costume Jewelry books, including page 201 of Judith Miller's book, COSTUME JEWELRY. You can define styles of the times by looking at old Sarah catalogues. This Maltese cross brooch with red, white & blue glass cabs set in a goldwashed, embossed bead setting was manufactured in the 1970s, when Maltese cross jewelry was fashionable, and so was bicentennial patriotic jewelry.
