Sterling Filigree Butterfly Brooch Circa 1950. A Victorian Revival piece, the sterling lacy twists and turns on this piece are fascinating. No markings, but tests as sterling. Well made and heavier for it's size than you might think. It is indeed a mystery; on the lower left side there is a square marking resembling a maker's mark; it looks like a man standing holding branch, and another figure opposite. On the back opposite is a blank place. I wish I had time too look up the mark, but the butterfly is really unusual and lovely, standing on it's own. The ruffled wingspan is 2 1/2" and the butterfly is 1 3/4" from top of antennae. The rolling safety clasp pin mechanism is soldered on with a curved V-bar. Very Good++ condition. $58 |

Big De Lizza & Elster Shocking Pink Rhinestone Butterfly I've seen this unsigned beauty immortalized in a book somewhere, but never mind, it's gorgeous, and you'll never need another summertime brooch! Verified as Juliana, this ostentatious butterfly is a double layered blazing confection of two subtly different shades of pink--medium pink and a cooler pink, almost fuchsia, to accentuate the varied patterns of stones. WE have plump navettes in assorted sizes and long thin navettes with various sized chatons, all prong set in very light gold tone plating. Stones are all clear, bright & sparkling; the plating has wear in back, but the wear is not ugly. Measuring 3 1/8" at the upper wing tips and 2 7/8 from top of antennae to lower wing tip, this brooch has good heft and is ready to dress up that jacket or purse with a shocking splash of Pink. Want some extra attention? For the hottest days on the beach, tie a scarf around your bosom and pin it together with this brooch! Guaranteed you'll hardly be able to keep it on! Very Good condition. $78 |

Pretty Little
Juliana Fiery Butterfly Pin & Earrings DeLizza & Elster, confirmed by Frank DeLizza. The fiery color in this sweet butterfly more than make up for her delicate stature. At 1 7/8" x 1 1/2, she relies on her siam red-hot rhinestone body and siam & topaz navette wings to add a spark to your look without attracting ALL the attention. Matching 5/8" butterfly clip on earrings complete the look of true vintage beauty. Rated Very Good, with uniform darkening at the tips of the outer navettes. $24.95 |

| Dodds Blue Rhinestone Butterfly Demi
Parure. Circa 1950s. Dodd's figural jewelry is highly collectible. It is beautiful, well made, and not particularly plentiful. This butterfly set has sparkling, pale blue rhinestones set in a delicate granulated openwork with smooth rhodium plating. The construction is unusual in that some of the cups have 4 prongs holding up a smaller cup in which the chaton is set. It's hard to tell this from the scans. Dimensions of the butterfly are 2 x 2 3/8". The matching clip back earrings are 1 1/4". Excellent condition. F996 $55.00 |

Art Nouveau Revival Plique a Jour
Butterfly
Signed Brooch. I believe this unusual, well made butterfly brooch is circa 1970. In the late 1960s and early 1970's an Art Nouveau Revival became stylish not only in jewelry but also in other media and commercial art. Within the gold tone openwork, transparent colors allow light to shine through. The colors do look like enamel, thicker around the edges and thinner throughout the center. The clear colors are reddish, teal, and yellow in Gold tone openwork setting, accented by high quality clear crystal bezel set rhinestones. Measurements are 2 1/4" tall with 2" wingspan. Signed in back SFJ. Excellent condition. $68.

Note about scans--None of the rhinestones are discolored. The yellowish shade is a creation of my temperamental old scanner! R.F. |
