L.S. Co. 1940s Retro Sterling Vermeil Brooch These L.S. big brooches are getting very scarce; I haven't been able to find one awhile now. This wonderful retro modern floral brooch is fashioned most gracefully in thick sterling with gold-filled plating with the leaves pointing every which way as if swayed and bandied in a tropical storm, making the brooch an exciting study in artistic movement. Little scalloped cups contain prong set faux pearls. The large flower has a ring of prong set unfoiled prong set clear stones with an unfoiled green stone in the center. Dimensions are 3 1/2" tall x 2 5/8" wide. Under magnification, the green stone has a tiny chip just beneath a prong. Very little of the vermeil is worn away. Condition is rated Very Good and priced accordingly. Marked in back in a diamond shaped plate, L.S. CO, 1/20- 12K G.F., ON STERLING. A beautiful, substantial and elegant jewel! $68 |

Large Diamante
Openwork Leaf Brooch A striking accompaniment to many kinds of dresses and outfits, especially for evening, is this vintage crystal rhinestone leaf, Its one of those 1950's unsigned designer brooches, well-made with prong set navettes and chatons in rhodium. I like the openwork design--wouldn't this look nice on dark red dress? Or midnight blue! Dimensions are 3 1/2" tall x 2" wide. The rhinestones, good Austrian crystals, sparkle beautifully, although on examination under 10x magnification, spotting in the foil of some of the stones can be seen. Nevertheless, a real beauty! Very Good condition. $45 |

Breathtaking H. Pomerantz Ultimate Autumn Brooch A rare and incredible brooch by H. Pomerantz in amazing autumn colors is something you MUST have if you are a collector, or simply a lover of autumn beauty. This gold tone cast jewel is done in layers; it is so thick and heavy you can't really call the motif a spray, it's more of a delicious stalk of golding leaves studded with dark and light topaz rhinestones and accented with teal green stones, some of which are aurora borealis. Some stones are glue set into cups; others are set in half prongs amid the textured, antiqued golden leaves. The flower in the middle has two layers of petals spreading into a sunburst; the center is a raised dome of pave topaz rhinestones accented with a ring of teal blue-green chatons. When you have this jewel in your possession you will never need another autumn brooch. Close to 5" long and 2 1/8" at the widest point; it stands about 1" high from the pin stem. This is a heavy brooch; to be worn on a jacket lapel or coat. For less heavy fabric it is wise to re-enforce during wear by pinning into a bra strap or shoulder seam. Excellent condition. $185 |

H.
Pomerantz Faux Jade Asian Look Girandole Brooch
One thing so unique about this brooch and other H. Pomerantz jewels is the sometimes strange and always fabulous mixtures of styles. Often I can see the influence of Paul Selenger, who used to design for H. Pomerantz before he went on to start his own design house, Selro, and the same can be said for the uniqueness of Selro jewelry. In this lovely brooch we have a mixture of Victorian revival along with a large Asian symbol applied against layers of Victorian ornate ribbon swirls, loops in textured golden metal and pressed glass flower motif medallions that look like jade hung with ornate dangles. The central oval glass as well as the smaller medallions are prong set into textured bezels. A truly unusual and lavishly lovely, this brooch is 3 1/8" from top to bottom and about 2 1/2" wide. To wear as a pendant you can have a chain attached to jump rings on either side of the top part of the brooch in a way that does not alter the original jewel. Excellent condition. $155 |

Lily
of the Valley Jade & Rhinestone Brooch Pin Earrings For your consideration, a vintage floral brooch and earrings in brushed gold tone with green flowers of tumbled jade accented by gold tone shoots with sparkling prong set rhinestones on the ends. It's hard to see the rhinestones in the pictures because face the top of the brooch. They are more visible on the matching clip on earrings. I am told the flower motif is a Lily of the Valley. The pin measures 3 inches tall with 1 1/2" earrings. This high quality, elegant set is unsigned, although t he earrings are marked with design patent number 156452, which is a 1949 patent for Moulson ear clip findings. These particular findings show up on designer costume jewelry from time to time, but still gives little clue as to the designer this set. Excellent condition. $42 |

Uniquely Mod Maltese Cross Op Art Good sized at 2 5/8 " x 2 5/8". The square faceted Lucite cabs blink in the light, vying with the brilliant rhinestones prong set in matte gold set hither and thither their lights blinking like the flash from cameras. The type of Lucite cabs was also popular in 1960s colored Lucite beaded jewelry. Uniquely sassy is the way the rhinestones are set in little asymmetrical squares, which also made it difficult to get a straight image from the scanner. Excellent condition. For a dramatic '60s look, enjoy this black & white beauty for $38 |
