Big White Enameled Multicolor Rhinestone Butterfly Brooch.

Circa 1960s. Weiss did a number of styles using colored enamels similar to japanning, but this beauty is unsigned. Still, with sparkling quality spring and summer enjoy this butterfly, a lovely confection loaded with multicolor rhinestones--hot pink chatons make up the butterfly body, while the wings are adorned with green and blue chatons with pink navette accents, all on a white japanned filigree  fitting. Dimensions 2 3/4" at the wingspread by 2 1/4" tall. Brooch is in excellent condition. $48

Vintage Genuine Shell Cameo Stick Pin

Here's a type of cameo that was popular in the 1950's. it's genuine shell, a lady with bobbed curling hair set with a flower. She's ivory beige on a carnelian colored background in a gilded setting. The cameo in it's oval bezel is a bit over 3/4" tall; the entire stick pin is 2 1/2" and  in near Excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or stress lines. The pin is straight and capped with it's original cap. This would make a lovely gift for a girl's first genuine cameo. $28

Round  Emerald & Peridot Brooch & Earring Set

This came to me years ago with a large lot full of old Dodd's, 11 W 30th Street, and Jewel Creations jewelry. The Jewel Creations were left unsigned, like this set, and I no longer have access to the older catalog pages, but you can see a brooch very much like it on a copy of a catalog page on page 83 of  Roseann Ettinger's POPULAR JEWELRY OF THE '60s, '70s & '80s. This uses lovely flower on flower shapes in emerald green navettes and peridot chatons, with petals outlined in beaded gold tone. The brooch has a stacked look, and  is large at 2 1/4" in diameter, and dome shaped, sitting 3/4" above the pin stem. The matching clip on earrings are 1 1/8'.  Everything is in excellent, perhaps never worn, condition. $45

Elegant Victorian Bar Pin with Art Glass, Signed PS Co

Wear this beneath the collar of a crisp white librarian blouse or sexy silk blouse; and, if you really want to wear it like Victorian or Edwardian ladies, place a cameo below, or one of those small collar pins with one stone. For instance, here is how the pin looks along with an oval carnelian. Larger than most bar pins seen in this era, this late Victorian jewel is beautifully designed with lovely wheat or barley sheaf motifs in a beaded openwork gilded setting. Oval shaped green & yellow 2-tone art glass stones change with the light and are set openback in bezels. The pin 3 3/4" long x 3/8" wide, fastening with an old style open C-clasp. This a well made piece and is a good weight. and in excellent condition. Signed P.S. Co, across the upper curve of the C-clasp, of all places! Excellent condition. $65

Lovely Victorian Edwardian Oval Carnelian Pin

This tasteful jewel probably fastened a Victorian lady's white lace collar to her gown. The gilded bezel holds perfectly a genuine carnelian cabochon of good quality. Imagine that rich color adorning the neckline or collar of a white or light neutral blouse, cotton or silk...sigh. The bezel and stone are 1 1/8" wide and 5/8" tall, and thick, the stone rising about 1/4" from the bezel. The pin clasps with a standard late 19th century hinge and open C catch, with the pin extending a bit beyond the bezel. Excellent condition. $55

1980's Deco Lady Bisque Doll Face Brooch Pin

Most of these pins were hand made and quite popular in the late 1970's. This lady has a bisque face with bright blue eyes and a little red bow mouth. Her red felt cap is lined with hand sewn golden sequins. She is surrounded by a sheer black organza ruff with golden edging around the hem, and at her throat is a puff of black fur. She is just so glamorous, your alter ego perhaps. The backing is better than usual, gold tone metal with a riveted pin mechanism with safety clasp. Excellent condition. $28

You love music and dancing, and you like quality and high style in your clothing and jewelry while you're having fun. This sash pin was made for you, though you weren't born yet! In the era known by costume jewelry collectors as "transitional," this circa early century brooch offers graceful movement in the openwork design in gilded base metal, with elements of both Art Nouveau and Art Deco design. The applied decorations include curly-cues and zig-zag musical-note shaped designs, and flowers with tiny prong set blue pastes. At the center, sassily tilted, is a claw set open backed oval amber or topaz glass, clear as colored water! Dimensions are 2 7/8" wide x 1 1/2" tall. Very Good to Excellent condition. $85

Retro Sterling Vermeil Large Brooch, RARE Ermine Stone

Offered for your consideration, this lovely antique gold vermeil brooch offers rare Swarovski unfoiled stone called ermine--actually a clear lovely teal. This is a color recently re-released by Swarovski company, but it was first introduced in the 40's, and then discontinued for many years. The rectangular stone is prong set open back beneath a floral caps. This enchantingly designed brooch is basically oval crowded with ribbon curls, twisting leaves, and a spray of diamante rhinestones on one side. There is some visible wear to the vermeil finish. The brooch measures 2-1/2" tall x 2" wide, very pretty. Marked STERLING on the back. Very Good condition. $58

HUGE Lollipop Purple Pinwheel Moonglow Flower Brooch

This striking brooch looks like the huge lollipops we could buy at the carnival when it came to town, or when we drove all the way to the big city in the 1950s and 1960s, and is, in fact, a 1960s piece. Its purple and magenta moonlgow Lucite thermoset inserts will doubtless fascinate all who notice it, and it is bound to be noticed.
