Antique Diamond Shaped Hand Painted Porcelain Violets Pin

All the rage from Victorian times until about 1930, these beautiful hand painted porcelains were given to friends and lovers as gifts of commitment, love, or whatever the floral design meant. According to Dorothy Kamm's JEWLERY AND BUTTONS PAINTED PORCELAIN IDENTIFICATION & VALUE GUIDE, Violets meant faithfulness and modesty. Perhaps long ago a mother gave it to her daughter, or a woman may have gifted a special friend. Most of the pins were round or oval, so it's unusual to have a diamond shape like this one. The violets are painted against very vivid polychrome glazes in blues, green, yellow and pink. A lot of work went into this little 1 3/4" wide x 1"  beauty. The porcelain is prong set into a brass fitting equipped with an open C-clasp. It is in very good condition; the porcelain is Excellent, but the brass setting has the usual wear in back. $58

Trifari Enameled Black Bow Pin

Circa 1980's. The black & gold coloring makes this enameled pin a classic for the 1980s era. The cute bow is a bit reminiscent of cartoonish styles of the 1930's, like something you'd see on Olive Oil in the oldest Popeye cartoons. Dimensions are 2" x 1 1/2". The pin is high quality and in Excellent condition. $28

Victorian Edwardian Era Collar Pin with Purple Jewel

Simple but delicious, this 1" x 1/2" turn-of-the-century amethyst glass collar pin would look as lovely on this season's frilly blouses as the collars of yesteryear. This is a good, thick piece; the stone rises above the 1/4" setting. Wear it just over or in lieu of the top button of your blouse, or right under the collar. You can pin this rich-looking beauty to a hat, or onto a velvet ribbon to tie around your neck or your wrist. The purple molded glass stone sits tight in an open bezel setting of gilded brass, and clasps securely with old C-clasp. Very good condition. $35.00

Antique Jewelry Enameled Fawn Pin Brooch

Antique Enameled Little Lamb Brooch

This sweet pin is either Bambi or another fawn in rhodium plated pot metal, beautifully enameled with a pale yellow. He has stamped (see reverse) raised spots in pink, an applied green garland around his neck, and green hooves. How darling he is, as well as fairly high quality. I believe the back is rhodium plated--the poor little deer came to me very dirty, but without tarnish. I gave him a bath, but not a polish. Circa date is probably 1930-1940. The pin predates the Bambi movie and the Disney pins, but the movie was based on a popular illustrated children's book by Viennese author Felix Salton, first published in 1929. The pin is equipped with an old C-clasp and measures 2 1/4" x 1 5/8". Rated Very Good for minor loss of enamel in spots. Enjoy for $58.00

Gerry's Glass Tortoiseshell Cameo in Diamond Shaped Filigree.

Its the little German head band girl again, but  this time she's made of pressed or molded frosted glass applied to a base of smooth brown faux glass tortoiseshell with creamy tan color s around the face and hair. The scans made her face look funny, but she's all there, her nose and eye area is one of the darker reddish-brown colors and came out shadowed. She is lovely! No wonder Gerry's collectors especially prize the cameos with the diamond shaped settings; the quality is really quite high with good heft and sturdy feel. The cameo, in a remarkable chain bezel, is surrounded by whorls, loops, and beading and all that goes into ornate openwork. This brooch is 2" tall x 1 1/2", signed on the back GERRY'S(c).  Excellent condition. $28

Vintage Lucite Cameo

Reverese

Delightful Clear & Blue Lucite Cameo Habille

This unusual jewel is a rather saucy tribute to the cameo. The feminine cream colored molded resin cameo sits on a midnight blue Lucite platform which is attached to a another thicker, clear faceted Lucite base, which throws shades of blue here and there. Even better, this one is a habille, which means that the cameo lady is also wearing a jewel, a shining rhinestone like a brooch to drape her silky gown. Dimensions of this jewel is 1 3/8" x 1 6/8". Very Good condition. $65.00

Antique Multicolor Rhinestone and Blue Faceted Glass Pin

Larger than the usual collar pin, this circa 1920's piece has a Czech look to it, but no signature. The stamped brass has aged beautifully, is free of verdigris, full of beaded and fleur de lis decorations and studded with prong set rhinestones.
