Go super feminine this spring with this turn-of-the-century hand painted porcelain brooch. This is one of the larger brooches, sometimes known as 'belt pins," because they could be used to fasten the cloth sashes of Edwardian times. Cascades of blue & white forget-me-nots and pale green foliage in a background of subtly shaded glazes delight the imagination. Framing the floral scene is exquisite decorative scroll work done with raised pastes covered with decorative matte gilding. The brooch is 2 3/8" tall x 2" wide, a big beauty prong set in the brass setting. It fastens with a old fashioned C-clasp. Very Good to Excellent condition.
