Signed Schrager Maltese Cross Pewter Brooch
This beautiful cross came to me several years ago, and now it's time to go home! For one thing, any signed Schrager is hard to find, but this is the only time I have ever seen this brooch. Even the 1940 unsigned huge butterflies are more plentiful than this beauty. Made of a polished pewter-like hammered metal, the prongs enclose a lovely blue speckled glass cabochon in the center. This is made to look like a handmade medieval piece which points to the 1960's medieval revival, but I estimate the date to be from mid 1950's through mid '70s. This jewel is marked in back SCHRAGER in block letter on an oval plaque. Along with the pin finding, it is also equipped with a pendant loop so you can wear it as a necklace if desired. Excellent condition. $68

Two Sets: Signed Star-Art Sterling Necklace Set with GF Brooch and Earrings Set. Here we have some diamante jewelry, a sterling necklace signed Star-Art, with a pair of matching sterling earrings and a gold filled brooch and earrings demi, also signed Star-Art. These pieces could have been divided into two separate sets, but the prior owner kept these pieces together and took good care of them, so we will keep both sets together for the next owner. All the jewelry is circa 1950. These jewels have a delicate, lacy look, but are very well made, sturdy and with good heft. The flower and orchid motif necklace with swirling tendrils is prong set with teardrops and chatons. Clasping at 16 3/4 the setting is plated with either rhodium or white gold; we haven't tested, but it is very shiny. It is marked STAR-ART STERLING. The floweret screw on earrings are 7/8" and marked STERLING. The 7/8" star shaped earrings are screw-on and signed with a different Star-Art mark--a star with tiny letters ART inside, and also marked 1/20th 14k GF, which is white gold. Finally, the 2" brooch is layered, featuring a star motif with very retro curled tendrils atop a spray of chatons and baguettes against a double loop. it is marked on a plaque STAR-ART 1/20 12K GF, also being white gold. This is a beautiful double set of jewels. Though when looking with a loupe you can see minor fleabites on the back of the necklace, everything is in Excellent, brilliantly sparkling condition. Enjoy for $95.

Crescent Heart Pendant Necklace HOLD This signed Swoboda necklace is such a fabulous example of 1960's & '70s big articulated pendants that it can only enhance your collection and the dramatic look that gets you noticed. Large thin crescent moon and heart shaped slices of spinach jade bound in textured gold plated bezels will be unrivaled anywhere you take this. Held to the light it's quite semi translucent, and worn against a rust colored sweater or pink shirt you will be the most striking woman in the room. Delicious Warner Ripe Japanned Strawberry Pin Book Piece Beauty Look at this beauty, a spring and summer delight, featured on page 276 of Marcia Brown's Rhinestone Jewelry: Figurals, Animals and Whimsicals. Dark red prong set pave stones are crammed onto a Japanned strawberry setting, topped by graceful dark emerald green prong set navette leaves. This jewel is 1 3/4 tall and quite plump, the center rising about 3/4" from the pinstem. This fruit figural is sought after by collectors everywhere, or just because it's beautiful, and it will make him want to give you a kiss. Signed WARNER on the back of one of the larger navettes. Blue Rhinestone Necklace Set with Super-Icing SOLD Bring out your baby blues (or baby browns) this summer in this dazzling vintage ocean blue rhinestone necklace and earrings signed Weiss. Rhinestone chain is decked with dangling chatons and navettes prong set in rhodium plated fittings. To top this off, the 1" centerpiece offers what I like to call Super Icing--not just a little swirl, but a triple decker accent of pave crystal rhinestones sitting atop fused 3 navette dangles in the centerpiece. The stone colors are repeated in the matching clip on earrings and include a teardrop and a symmetrical tulip motif of icing. Lavender and Magenta Rhinestone Tulip Brooch & Earrings Demi
To finish a delightfully fresh springtime outfit,
what more could you desire than this Weiss set so lovely you can almost catch a
scent of flowers! Long slim magenta navettes, surrounded by lines of
lavender chatons are accented by magenta chatons on the stem of the brooch and
at the base of the clip on earrings. All are prong set in an immaculate gold
tone openwork setting. Note how the petals are layered; note the texture of the
scalloped leaves, and see how pretty these jewels are even on the reverse.
Jewels like these are the reason vintage Weiss jewels are so treasured. The

Rare Weissco Rhinestone Pin Clip Fur Clips Duette Weissco is a rare signature for the Albert Weiss Co., used only during the late 1940s. And no one else will have one of these--I didn't even know Weiss made duettes until this flashed it's sparkle before my widened eyes! Like other duettes, or double pin clips, you can wear this beauty as a 2 3/4" wide brooch or remove the duette mechanism and wear the two separate pieces as 1 5/8" X 1 3/4" fur clips. High in quality, this pin is designed in layers, with a line of prong set crystal rhinestone navettes alongside chatons formed into flower motifs, with a couple of navettes recessed in the very center. Surrounding this lovely linear design is a layer of wickedly brilliant navettes, all in a rhodium plated setting. Everything is in Excellent condition; you will be so glad when this piece of costume jewelry history is yours~ Signed on the back, WEISSCO. $135

Weiss Painted Enamel Egg Brooch In years of buying costume jewelry, I have seen only a few enameled eggs by Weiss, and only one of this type of design; it was pink and it was already sold. This is a rare pin, probably made in the late 1960's, just before Weiss closed its doors. Weiss made a some highly collectible enameled pieces during those years, some of which are now being counterfeited; real ones, except for some of the enameled flower power pins, are all fairly hard to find and as far as I know, the eggs have not been faked. This one does have a textured back; but the texture is different from the kind found on Weiss counterfeits. The basic color is red, crossed on the diagonal with gold tone lines, making diamond motifs in which white flowers with green foliage are enameled. This unique brooch measures 2 1/4" tall x 1 1/2 wide" and stands 3/4" high from the surface. There is a small amount of wear to the enamel that can be seen with a loupe but nothing substantial. These delightful '50s Art Moderne clip on earrings did not take the greatest scans, but they are truly impressive. Large, brilliant prong set chatons perch in the center of each, with smoke 'black diamond' baguettes squaring off the design on each side, accented by smaller chatons. Set in rhodium, this set of stylish jewels is signed WIESNER beneath each clip. The 1 1/8" earrings are in Excellent condition. $28. |
