D&E, DeLizza & Elster, & Juliana Jewelry

Juliana jewelry was originally made by DeLizza & Elster, who created rhinestone jewelry that was never signed but was marketed with paper hang tags, which, of course, are removed before wear. Because of that, it's not accurate to proclaim true DeLizza and Elster without clear knowledge of the characteristics of the jewelry (and there are plenty of exceptions to the rules,) and/or confirmation from Frank DeLizza. Some of the jewelry in this category has been confirmed by Mr. DeLizza.

We carry other colorful rhinestone jewelry in this category which is clearly described as "not Juliana" because Mr. DeLizza confirmed it as NOT D&E, and other jewelry will be described as "Juliana style" which means, it looks like it could be, but I haven't had the piece verified yet.

The pictures with this listing did not turn out well, but this silvertone elephant jewel is adorable and in excellent condition, with no wear on the finish at all. This major 3-D elephant has an uplifted trunk for the best of luck, pretty black eyes and twirly silvertone openwork ears and legs. She's textured, full figured, and roaring with happiness that she might find a new home. Dimensions are 3 1/2" tall, 3 1/8" from ear to ear, and her trunk sticks out about an inch from the surface. Not like the usual D&E jewels we have come to know, one of these plump and passionate pretties can be found in Ann Pitman's Juliana Jewelry Reference Guide on page 256. Here's a brooch in a kind of dusky lavender. In this particular brooch the unfoiled, openback stones pick up and transform some of the color beneath--whatever you are wearing. Perfect for spring or even a wedding, the leaf offers not only prong set marquise cuts, but a line of Aurora Borealis AB crystals down the center. Everything is set in gold tone. The brooch is large at  2 3/4" tall x 2 1/8" wide, and is in Excellent condition. $42

DeLizza & Elster Blue and Green Rhinestone Brooch

Verified by Frank DeLizza. The blends of colors in this star-splashed jewel will be the only thing you need to dress up a set of khakis. The center stone is a very unusual unfoiled smoky lavender oval, prong set in a layered openwork finding. This incredible stone is haloed by a ring of sapphire chatons and bordered by a tilt-a-whirl of blue and green navettes, accented by a couple of emerald chatons. All in gold tone, this jewel is 1 3/4" tall x 1 1/2" wide. Excellent condition. $45

Verified DeLizza & Elster Topaz Chevron & AB Rhinestone Earrings

Here's a wonderful pair of verified D&E Juliana earrings. Topaz arrow stones are surrounded by aurora borealis coronet set topaz stones and a figure 8 of smoky topaz stones. The goldtone finding is without visible wear. Earrings are clip-ons and are 1 1/4" tall x 7/8" wide. Rhinestones are shining and bright. Excellent condition. $32

Verified earrings with figure 8s, Long slender sexy navettes top off these lovely D&E autumn beauties, along with aurora borealis chatons in graduating sizes, all prong set in gold tone. These jewels are 1 5/8" tall and in Excellent condition. $32

The textured golden metal of this gracefully designed swan offers glamour and imagination with it's sweep of pink crystal bicones among the tail feathers. Only Kramer could create such a brooch. Kramer Silky Pink Moonglow Bracelet and Earrings Set

The pink color of the moonglow ovals is a bit more subdued than the pictures show,. Rather, the glowing pieces are a lovely swirl shell pink and would look great with a new manicure or nothing at all but clean hands and a smile. Set in silvertone, this well made set includes matching earrings with double moonglow ovals and clip backs. The bracelet clasps at 7 1/4" with a fold over clasp, and the earrings are fairly large at 1 3/8". All pieces are signed (c)Kramer. Everything is in Excellent condition. $45

Kramer Black Diamond Leaf Brooch

Here's something traditional to wear almost anywhere from day to evening, year around. The delightful curves and the dark yet bright glint of smoke rhinestones, or, "black diamonds", a great look Weiss made popular in the 1950s. Try textured loops of rhodium plated metal enc lose two rows of dusky jewels set in half prongs. Measuring 2 3/4" long, this brilliant jewel is marked KRAMER(c) in back and is in Excellent condition. LAGUNA~ This company is best known for it's incomparable crystal jewelry and bead necklaces. My mother had a crystal necklace in the 1960s, which was--and still is--a basic for dress up occasions such as weddings.

Laguna Faux Pearl Clip On Earrings

I'd love to see the necklace that goes with these great 1950s clip ons. The white faux pearls are piled up in layers of assorted sizes are wired into the silvertone finding, some accented with lacy black bead caps that will remind him of black lingerie! The earrings are 1 1/4" in diameter and quite chunky, rising nearly 1" from the clip surface. Signed LAGUNA, these earrings are in Very Good condition, with no peeling and mild wear on the back. $24

Ledo ~ A mark used, among others, by Leading Jewelry Company founded by Ralph Polcini. They made high quality costumer jewelry. The company was in business from 1911 to 1960, then re-named Policini, stayed in business until 1989.

Ledo 1962 Rhinestone Studded Rooster Pin

Just the thought of this bossy little guy will get you up in the morning with a smile. This textured golden rooster stands proudly on his branch with plenty to crow about. After all, his perky comb is covered with red rhinestones, his face and collar with pave crystals! Even his tail feathers radiate with red, blue and crystal rhinestones, all channel set and winking like the devil! Standing on tiptoes and puffing his chest wide, he's a nice sized 2 1/4" tall x 1 1/4" at widest. $78

Lind-Gal The hard to find jewelry is marked @LG in an artist palate. This mark was used beginning in 1952. Probably no longer in business.

Limoges, France ~
Not a particular design house but an area around Limoges, France. Besides porcelain plates, dish sets and boxes, jewelry was made there as well.

Limoges Painted Porcelain Dark-Haired Lady Portrait Pin

We have for you today one of the most popular costume jewelry ladies in this portrait brooch from Limoges, France. The porcelain oval has hand-painted embellishments over the transfer, with the dark haired lady as demure as ever and her Mona Lisa smile as enigmatic! The porcelain is bezel set into the standard 1940s twisted wire frame; it fastens in back with a trombone clasp. Measurements are 1 7/8" x 1 3/8". Very Good condition.
