Trifari Sterling Bow Pin with Pave Crystal Rhinestones

Circa 1950. This bow by Trifari is high quality in a small size with a lovely 3-dimensional design of curves & curls, juxtaposed with the near-straight lines of the 'ribbon' ends. The sterling is plated in rhodium, a technique used in better costume jewelry to keep the sterling from tarnishing & pitting. This heirloom jewelis just 2" wide from tip to tip and 1 1/8" from highest to the lowest point. Very Good condition, with all rhinestones absolutely sparkling. Signed Trifari with the crown over the T, and Sterling separately. minor wear to plating in back. $42

The lavender rhinestones turned out too dark in the scans. The stones are sparkling lavender and violet. None are dark or discolored.

Not a good picture (there is no green on any of the metal), but still, this brooch is a scarce and wondrous design, back from the times when the art deco linear design lines were evolving into the spare nosegays of retro modern. In most of these old pins, like this one, the prong set stones are unfoiled and absolutely brilliant. In this one, the stones are peridot green. Only the open buds and their stems have vermeil coating; this is deliberate to the design, since gold and silver together in one jewel has been stylish off and on through the years. The brooch is a big one at 3" x 2 7/8". Very Good condition, with bits of tarnish here and there. $68

Big & Beautiful Retro Sterling Vermeil Floral Brooch

This retro brooch is sterling silver with a rose gold finish, beautifully darkened with age.A double layer of flower petals hold in the center a prong set unfoiled ruby glass oval gel a tendril holds another such glass gem. This beauty is . 3 3/4" tall x 2 5/8" wide. Only a small amount of wear to the golden finish appears just where you would expect, on the raised portion of the laves. Very Good condition. Little Carved Wood Bird Pin

Not Takahashi, but he sure looks like one. He's a lively looking little thing, painted in enamels of green, yellow, bright red inside the beak and a rust brown breast. The black outlines give an illusion of texture. The bird's black wire claws grip a tiny branch. It looks like it might be a Green Kingfisher, but I'm not sure. It's well made, with a screwed-in pin back. He's light in weight, 2 5/8" long and stands 1 1/2" at the tallest, between the crest and branch. Excellent condition, with normal crazing in paint seen with loupe or in photo enlargement. that show you how vintage this little sweetheart is. $45

Vendome Sterling Vermeil Blooming Rose Brooch

She is sure to treasure this quality sterling silver brooch. Layers and layers of textured curving petals centered around a pink prong set rhinestone. The petals and curving, exquisitely textured leaves offer a golden finish. The unfinished stem is darkened sterling, giving a nice contrast with the vermeil. This heirloom beauty is 3" tall with a 1 3/8" flower head. The rose rises a full 1" from the pin back.
