Antique Celluloid Flapper Portrait Brooch

Here is a beautiful old flapper pin with hand painting plus transfer on celluloid, definitely from the 1920s or 1930s. So moderne--a sassy tribute on the old Victorian painted porcelain ladies, what with the use of celluloid and a bobbed hair flapper with false eyelashes and rouge on her cheeks! The oval shaped pin is 2 1/8" tall, with the front being in Excellent condition with no missing paint or transfer. The back is very worn, though there is no verdigris some rust, which has been cleaned, has affected the golden plating. The brooch itself is hollow, with the celluloid like a thin canvas stretched over a metal frame and set into the standard American 6-pronged open C-clasp finding. Overall Very Good . Enjoy. $75

Delightful Clear & Blue Lucite Cameo Habille

This unusual jewel is a sassy mid-century Art Moderne tribute to the cameo. The feminine cream colored molded resin cameo sits on a midnight blue Lucite platform which is attached to a another thicker, clear faceted Lucite base, which throws shades of blue here and there. Even better, this one is a habille, which means that the cameo lady is also wearing a jewel, in this case a shining rhinestone like a brooch to drape her silky gown. Dimensions of this jewel is 1 1/2" x 1 5/8". It is also chunky, the thickness rising 7/8" from the pinstem. Very Good condition. $68

Antique Hand Painted Porcelain Forget-Me-Nots Brooch Pin

Circa 1900. If you are an old fashioned girl, you'll love this American hand painted porcelain brooch, depicting & blue & white forget-me-nots with green foliage. The lovely blended background glazes are especially nice, with blue, pink, and yellow. The 6-prong gilded brass setting bears an open C-clasp. The brooch measures 2" tall x 1 5/8" wide and is in Very Good condition with the usual tarnish or fading of gilding in back. $68

Antique Sterling & Ruby Glass Brooch

Circa 1910. This gorgeous brooch offers a wide faceted oval ruby glass in the pronged setting. This beautiful stone is prong set in a sterling silver frame set with clear pastes. In between pastes the metal is beaded. The brooch is 1 3/4" wide x 1 1/8". Marked Sterling in back, this ravishing jewel is equipped with an open C-clasp. Though tarnished, this antique brooch is in Excellent condition. $58

Pretty Antique Hand Painted Violets Pin with Ornate Gilding

Many of these dear porcelain pieces were hand painted a gifts from the crafter to her friend or loved one. Patterns could often be found in the craft publications of the day. The type of flower was meant to convey a particular message--in the case of violets, faithfulness. This is a larger than average painted porcelain showing a deluge of violets and light green foliage gilded along the left edge and decorated with pearl-like raised dots. The background glazes include a subtle peach. The pin measures 2 1/4" x 1 3/4" and is set in a brass six-pronged setting. There is typical wear common in these beauties especially along the sides. Delightful '30s Multicolor Flower & Rhinestone Brooch

Circa 1930. Let this pretty pin give you an old fashioned glow for that old fashioned guy. Chromium plated openwork with an extra tier of swirls and lilies gives this white metal brooch its voluptuous shape. Diamante stones wink from their beaded settings. The jewel is filled with little Czech plastic flowers in multicolor--pink, yellow, mint green, baby blue and lavender, each being centered with a sparkling rhinestone. It appears that a prior owner re-glued the flowers and their rhinestone centers, for some of the clear glue can be seen with a 5x loupe. The brooch is 2 5/8" wide x almost 1 1/2" tall. Overall condition is Very Good. $38

Antique Blister Pearl Pin ~ Mother of Pearl

Here's an antique pin of mother of pearl with a coral and white colored "blister." The mother of pearl, from an abalone, glows with fabulous pink, lavender and green colors, like the northern lights running wild! It is highly polished and lacquered. The pin is 1 3/4" wide and equipped with an open C-clasp which is riveted onto the MOP. Excellent condition. $42

Rare design Art Deco Sash Pin with Topaz Glass

You love music and dancing, and you like quality and high style in your clothing and jewelry while you're having fun. This sash pin was made for you, though you weren't born yet! This circa 1925 brooch offers graceful movement in the openwork design in gilded base metal, with elements of both Victorian and Art Deco design. The applied decorations include curly-cues and zig-zag musical-note shaped designs, and flowers with tiny prong set blue pastes. At the center, sassily tilted, is a claw set open back oval amber or topaz glass, clear as fine whiskey! Dimensions are 2 7/8" wide x 1 1/2" tall. Very Good to Excellent condition. $78
