Rare Weiss Painted Enamel Egg Brooch In years of buying costume jewelry, I have seen only one other enameled egg by Weiss; it was pink and it was already sold. This is a rare pin, probably made in the late 1960's, just before Weiss closed its doors. Weiss made a some highly collectible enameled pieces during those years, some of which are now being counterfeited; real ones, except for some of the enameled flower power pins, are all fairly hard to find. This one does have a textured back; but the texture is different from the kind found on the counterfeits. The basic color is red, crossed on the diagonal with gold tone lines, making diamond motifs in which white flowers with green foliage are enameled. This unique brooch measures 2 1/4" tall x 1 1/2 wide" and stands 3/4" high from the surface. There is a small amount of wear to the enamel that can be seen with a loupe but nothing substantial. Very Good condition. Signed (c)Weiss in an oval in back. $135 |

1930's
Diamante Leaves with Ruby Red Emerald Cut Pastes For the vivacious, glitz loving gal, this circa Art Deco beauty offers a tropical waving fronds design, a rhodium plated metal setting for clear pave rhinestones and linear emerald cut ruby red pastes guaranteed to flash invitingly from across the room. I'm thinking black dress, perhaps a jewel tone jacket, or a sapphire blue or cream colored romantic blouse. Would you attract too much attention if you let this zesty jewel strike sparks from a dark teal evening dress for holiday splendor? Measuring 2 1/8" x 3", this cast piece is very well made, designed in two layers of rhodium plated base metal. The bezel set pastes are still dazzling. Very Good+ condition. Enjoy for $65 |

Large NE Pink& Green Enameled
Floral Brooch Circa 1935, with classic pink-and-green color scheme of the late 30s through 40s.From pictures to draperies, Grandma had it all, swans, storks, wide tropical leaves--and, best of all, on enameled jewels. You just can't go wrong with the cozy beauty, colors and collectibility of this pot metal brooch. Three pink enameled flowers are centered with pink rhinestone florets atop green enameled leafy stems, accented with clear chatons. The flowers climb up a black enameled lattice. The blue cabochon is the original but painted green at one time, noted by remnants of green around the edges. This brooch is very well preserved, with less than usual wear on the enamel. The two rhinestones under the lower left pink flower have been replaced. Dimensions cover a big 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" area for a buxom swell of vintage color! Signed NE in chalice. Brooch is just barely in very good condition. $65 |

Large Hand-Painted Porcelain Brooch with Violets. At the time these beauties were made, the large ones were called "belt pins." This thick, heavy beauty was probably painted for the Victorian understanding of the meaning of Violets, faithfulness, and perhaps given as a gift, as was the custom then. The flowers and dark green foliage are painted over very subtle glazes of yellow, pink, ivory and green, and glazed at the top three-quarters with a curtain of matte gold glaze. The porcelain is prong set in it's original brass fitting and fastens with an open C-clasp. Very Good condition. Dimensions are 2 5/8" tall x 2" wide. Very Good condition. $78 |

Florenza Pink & Purple Bow With enameled jewelry you can add a splash of color and infinite interest to a daytime outfit without adding a lot of glitz. Here is a pin by Florenza with several unique delights. In the center are little pink & purple soft appendages to look like the center of a flower or sea anemone. Don't ask me the material--I don't think it is plastic; it looks and feels like a natural substance. If anyone knows, please email me. From the center is a burst of overlapping loops painted pink and purple and tipped with gold, reminding me of butterfly wings. Measurements are 2 1/4" wide x 1 1/4". Pin is signed FLORENZA(c) in back on a raised oblong. Excellent condition. $35 |
