Signed ART
Offering high quality jewelry with an emphasis on medieval, renaissance styles, ART was has been in business since the late 1940's. But the heyday of this company came during the 1960's when they
produced for us dozens of interpretations of ethnic Asian figural jewelry,
Egyptian revival large metal pectorals, Maltese crosses, and an entire line of jewelry with delightful small enameled flowers. Most collectible besides the Christmas tree pins are the
Maltese crosses and the enameled daisy jewels; but the hardest to find pieces are decadent rhinestone
sets that are very similar to Florenza jewelry. The prices of jewelry signed ART(c) will only continue to rise.

Paisley Pendant with Big Purple Jewel
Circa 1960. This oriental mogul style piece is luxurious with tawny end-of-day bakelite paisleys and a big purple stone set unfoiled and openback like a real jewel. The gold tone setting is exquisite and it hangs from the original heavy brass chain. The pendant is 2 1/2" wide and 3 1/8" tall including textured bale. The chain clasps at 20" with a large spring ring. The paisley inserts are genuine bakelite, tested with Simichrome polish. The pendant is signed on the back, ART(c) and is in Very Good condition, with moderate wear to the gold tone in back. Still, a rare treat! $78

Art Signed Conch Shell Starfish Charm Bracelet
& Earrings A unique demi parure from the sea life series by Art, to be worn for summer vacation fun. This charm bracelet and earring set have a goldtone base. The charms on the bracelet include 4 actual shells; the pictures don't show the lovely rainbow effect the shells give off when catching the light. There are also enameled starfish centered with faux pearls, painted metal shells with coral beads and faceted yellow plastic beads. The matching earrings offer tiny starfish along with similar charms. The clip earrings are marked Art and measure approximately 1 and 3/4" by 1 and 1/2". The bracelet measures 7 and 1/2" in length and 2 and 1/4" in width. One of the earrings has lost a shell/coral bead dangle. It's hard to spot, but removal of the other dangle can even out the count, if desired. However, I think it's great the way it is. And otherwise the set is in excellent condition. Only the earrings are signed ART(c). $125 |

ART(c) Painted & Jeweled Roman Gladiator Helmet SOLD Well, someone got a feather in his cap! This is the prettiest helmet I've ever seen. The color combinations are incredible, as on many figurals by ART, but this one is a really beauty. Various shades of green and teal make striking contrasts with the burnished bronze and reddish colors which draw attention to the exquisite detail, from the lines of faux pearl accents, to the applied leaves and ruby red rhinestone. A scarce beauty, you are not likely to see one of these for a long time. At 2 7/8" tall x 1 1/2" wide, you will surely be noticed, plus, when your husband is in warrior mode, he could steal it to wear as a tie clip! Very good condition, with wear on the red paint decorating the symbol at the top of the helmet, and slight wear in metallic rust paint in a place that's hard to see; it blends with the highlights. Signed on the back ART(c). |
